My neighbours asked me if I wanted to dogsit for them lst night, as they were going to a Wild West-themed party. They also asked if I could drive them to the party. I said I could, and asked if I could use their car while I had the keys. "Sure", they said. So I drove them to the party and then drove to
acropetal's place and picked her up, and took us both to the water-filled quarry outside Dalby. First outdoor swim this summer -- and probably last summer, too. It was a lovely, really warm evening, and the water was very nice and cool (because of the quarry being really deep and the water being groundwater). If I had a car, I'd go there every night and do exercise swims!

It's over 30ºC in the shade, and the cat is mostly sleeping. I've wrapped a cooling block in a tea-towel and put in in the couch, where she usually lies. Right now she's on the balcony, though, on the wooden floor, underneath my balcony chair.
Here's a pic I drew of her earlier today, while she was on the folded-up duvet on my bedroom floor:
I drew it because I spoke to my nephew and niece today on the phone, and think I managed to convince the niece that we should correspond via snail mail (it might be an incentive for her to enjoy and practice her reading and writing more, and I'd enjoy it too), and I thought that if she did manage to write me a letter, I'd have to send something nice back, like a drawing of my cat.
