stripper with a machine-gun-for-a-leg

Heh, yeah, um Happy (belated) Easter to everyone! Preparations for my move are going okay, most of my 'extra' stuff from the last move is still in boxes :p At least this has made my parents clean out stuff they haven't touched in over a decade!

11. Grindhouse (4/5, Theatre)

I hope nobody thinks less of me for going to see this, but I went with WoW guildies on opening night, and MUCH fun and amusement was had. Albeit a LOT of gore (at least in the first feature), I have not laughed so hard, so much in a movie for a long time. Highlights were: inconsistent movements from Rose (one-legged stripper lady) depending on whether her leg (or lack of) were in the shot, many explosions, melty flesh, "missing reels", and hilarious shenanigans.

12. Barbershop (2.5/5, DVD)

I kept hearing about this movie, and finally got a chance to see it. It was good, but not great. I recognized a good portion of the actors and enjoyed it overall, but I probably wouldn't see it again. It's a bit predictable and cliche. Not that that's always a bad thing, but they didn't go very far with it.

Not sure if I mentioned this either, but in July I'm going to Vancouver! :D It's my uncle (who lives out there)'s 65th birthday and retirement bash. I also haven't seen any of my relatives who live on the east coast in near a decade, from my recollection. So I'm really excited!

Also, the girl my brother has been dating (we'll call her "D") for the past little while, is, to my relief, not a psycho, but a nice girl who likes video games and movies. She came to our Easter dinner at my grandparents' house and I had a blast playing Nintendo DS with her and my cousin. Such a fantastic change from past weirdos Phil's brought home! Her friendliness to me and my brother's efforts to do things as a group (instead of locking themselves in his room *all* the time) are really encouraging.
