I'm attempting the 100-Movies-In-2007 thing again, but I'm not writing big long reviews, just thoughts or comments, unless I have a lot to say. Normally I'm supposed to be doing this weekly, but I forgot, so this is the catch-up.
In the recent months (that I can remember, heh):
1. Zoolander (4/5, DVD)
Although a "Will Ferrell/Ben Stiller/Owen Wilson" flick, it is genuinely hilarious but not quite to the point of stupidity. I watched this one with my dad and he loved it.
2. Project Greenlight's Speakeasy (1/5, DVD)
This was one of the first movies I wanted to turn off part way through. It was just boring, and even now I don't know what the heck it was about.
3. Ocean's Twelve (3/5, DVD)
Like most sequels, not as good as the original, but still enjoyable. It didn't have *quite* the same charm as Ocean's 11, but still a good movie.
4. Bon Cop Bad Cop (4.5/5, DVD)
Probably the best Canadian movie I've seen, and the switching from English to French is just brilliant! Really entertaining.
5. Poseidon (1.5/5, DVD)
A good reminder of why I don't watch disaster movies. Bleah.
6. George Carlin: Complaints and Grievance (0/5, DVD)
I used to think George Carlin was funny. Maybe he's just funny in movies, because this standup bit was painful to watch. I almost hated this.
7. The Aristocrats (2.5/5, DVD)
An interesting documentary on comedians and a really weird joke they like to warp and tell each other.
8. Smokin' Aces (4/5, theatre)
For a somewhat mindless action movie, I really liked this one.
9. 300 (5/5, theatre)
Fantastic! Reminded me of a mix of Gladiator/Braveheart/The Two Towers. Loved it!!
10. Barnyard (2.5/5, VOD)
Okay, amusing, but pretty silly. Regardless of the fact that every cow (male or female) has an udder...
