What: Meeting about suspicious activities
Where: Atobe's office
When: June 16
Rating: Pg-13
Ryou didn't see anything good about this meeting with his boss. It was just taking time out of his valuable smoking/studying/finding more delicious cereal time, but he figured that it was inevitable. He just had to listen to Atobe preen for a few minutes, and then he could be on his merry way again. He wasn't sure how he had gotten picked for such an "honor".
He sighed and knocked sharply on the door, wanting to get it over with.
"You may enter. " A copy of Ryou's employment letter and other relevant documents were already on his desk. As much as he loved to preen (which he was inevitably going to) the purpose of this little meeting was different. In one corner stood Matsuda-san, the direct superior of Kisarazu Ryou, sweating profusely. He had asked for the man to sit, but apparently, he was more comfortable standing stiff, and he nearly jumped when the man in question walked in.
Ryou was even unaware he had a supervisor, save for the choreographer. He stared confusedly at the man, wondering who was this stranger and why did he need to be at what promised to be a short meeting. "Who's that guy?"
"Kisarazu-kun!" The man stuttered. "Please explain who you are. " Atobe spoke, voice crisp, but otherwise indifferent. "I ... I ..." it was amusing to watch the man look as if about to combust spontaneously. "He is your HR manager, Kisarazu-kun, you should keep track of these things. " Atobe resisted the urge to sigh. Idiot manager and suspicious employee were never a great combination. "You should have met him at the inductions."
Ryou shrugged. The guy was definitely unremarkable, but he didn't care and grabbed a seat. "He looks like an idiot. So, let's get this over with."
People who were interested in optimizing time were not intolerable in his books. "Yes, lets. " He also agreed on the idiot part. Matsuda hurriedly took a seat next to Ryou, "Kisarazu-kun, watch your insolence! Do you even know why-" Atobe cut him off with a wave of his hand. If the man wanted to rant about it, he should have done that before the meeting. This was not a scolding session. "Kisarazu-kun, you do understand your responsibilities as an employee with LA I assume?"
Ryou ignored the yipping man beside him and ticked off his job responsibilities on his fingers, already knowing them by heart. "Arriving and completing all shifts on time excepting for emergencies. Attend all practices for group choreography. Arrive to both work and practice dressed and ready to perform. Haven't missed anything, excepting my knee."
Indeed, the man performed more than decently in those areas, "There are more" Atobe passed the copy of the letter, with the page listing the terms of conduct, some highlighted in bright color. "Ethical conduct being one of them. There have been disturbing rumors floating around you. " he stared at the slight boy, so woman like in appearance seated across his throne, "And it would not bother me so if they were just that. "
Ryou matched his gaze back, still completely unruffled. "If it's about that gross American guy hanging around, he deserves it. He groped Akazawa and Saeki in the club itself, and then complained to Akazawa that he wasn't given a real Japanese host."
"Is that why you offered him services and collected wages for the same?" Atobe countered, coolly. "That’s an odd way of delivering justice. " his voice was tinged with barely there amusement. The misbehavior of the client had been brought to his notice. There had been complaints and actions to counter the same were also falling in place. Again, that was not the topic of discussion today.
"More like I beat him up and stole his wallet." Ryou was cool enough to chill beer off of. "Not to mention that said person was attempting to sell illegal drugs at the club. Not the image that you want to portray, is it?"
"And nobody gave you the authority to take matters in your own hands. " Atobe spoke, voice brisk and business again, "Indeed it is not the image I'm looking for, but I'm certainly not looking for professional whores in my organization either. " The service chose that exact moment to bring in the coffee, what followed was a terse silence before he dismissed them. "Atobe-sama, please forgive him, I'll-" he raised his hand again. Before the supervisor expressed his opinion , he wanted to hear the person in question speak.
"I've learned that if you want to get something done, you have to do it yourself." In truth, he was worried about his brother. Akazawa had told him that he was aiming for Atsushi, and as the older twin, he had to do his best to protect him. "I'm not going to say I'm sorry because it's over and done with. But I can say it won't happen again. I'm not a whore." That was Bane's job.
"Yes, you have to do it yourselves, if and only if you can do it right. " Atobe snapped. "This is what happens if you fail there. " he tossed a pocket device to Ryou. He did not think the man would need explanations as to what was playing there. It was a clip, shot from an awkward angle, a hidden camcorder and starring the feisty, long haired man before him as the main performer, tangled in sheets and sans clothes. There had been no proof to implicate that the camera indeed belonged to the foreign client, but he had people working on it. He had to keep the investigation discreet because one of his own people was involved in the same. "It was released on the internet. " It was long taken off now, but merely thinking of what would have happened if the clip had leaked further was traumatizing
So that explained why Ryou had been in the mood to punch everyone who leered at him recently. Atsushi had two protectors to watch out for him, Ryou had none. Still, there was no change in his facial expression, as all the clip showed was that Ryou was hot for being a skinny kid with long hair and funny eyes, and that Andy had a foul mouth and a small dick. "So is this the part where I beg for my job or what.I'm a student and need the night work."
"This is the part where you realize your foolery. " The man remained unaffected, and he did not need people who failed to realize the impact of their actions, especially since he had spent time and resources on clearing the bloody mess. "Can you comprehend on how matters would have reflected on the hotel if things were to get out of hand? " and the very least, it would have been the front page on every newspaper in every language. An internal scandal was the last thing the hotel needed when aiming for top rankings. "If you cannot, I suggest you turn in your papers and find an environment more suited to you. " A single dancer was disposable. The years of toil that had gone into making the hotel what it was today, were not.
"It was stupid." And while Ryou could probably get a higher paying job at any host club elsewhere in the city, he liked where he was, as it was easier to keep an eye on his brother there-not to mention that they got to live together again. "And I apologize for the trouble." He really couldn't make himself move his face, the last time he had smiled, he had ended up accidentally scaring a customer. He didn't want to think about what would happen if he tried to look remorseful.
The manager gave him shiny puppy eyes, not that they were even remotely cute on a balding forty something. "Fool around again, and there won't even be a warning. You'll be sent packing. " He took a sip of the coffee, now gone cold. The man was a favorite with the locals that was just about the only reason he had contemplated a second chance. That and he had received news that his second cousin had delivered a baby girl, which had put him in a better mood than yesterday and the day before. Which reminded him that it would be nice to actually get some time and pay a visit there. "You may take your leave now." that went for both, the manager and long hair.
Ryou was pretty thankful that the rest of the clients he had were just businessmen that he yelled at for an hour or so, especially since said businessmen couldn't bear to lose face in their worlds. He shrugged and got up, shooting a glare at the supervisor as he did so, just to see how he reacted.
