This one is for eph_inspiration  - I’ve really, really enjoyed being your friend over the past months and I always enjoy our conversations. You’ve done a lot for me this year in terms of beta-reading and title finding etc so thank you :D I really hope you like this! I hope it's the type of thing you were meaning - it got kind of schmoopier than I meant it to! Merry Christmas!

Title: Stranded

Pairing: Dean/Cas

Summary: Dean and Castiel get snowed in. Dean worries. Cas worries. They find a solution.

"I told you that this was a stupid idea.” Dean paced up and down the cabin, casting glances out of the window every now and then.” He mimicked Castiel’s earlier words, “We’ll wait in the cabin, Dean. Sam will be fine, Dean.” He turned to face the angel, “So where the hell is he?”

Castiel moved to stand next to Dean and placed a warm hand on his shoulder, “He’s fine. He just won’t be able to get back because of the snow. He’ll be taking shelter somewhere in town.”

“You don’t know that.”

“Dean, he has the car. He’s smart. He’ll be fine.” Shaking his head, he wrapped his arms around Dean’s waist and rested his chin on his shoulder, “You should be more worried about yourself.”

Still looking out of the window for any sign of headlights, Dean turned his head slightly, “What?”

“It’s freezing,” he brought up a hand and touched Dean’s cheek, “You’re freezing.”

He pulled away, “I should try calling Sam again.”

“You’ve tried five times already - there’s no signal.”

“Well, I need to do something.”

“Yes, you do.” He took a step forwards and grabbed Dean’s hand, pulled him closer, “You need to get warm. And you need to try and stop worrying about Sam - it’s not like we’re here on a case.”

“That doesn’t mean there’s nothing out there.”

“There’s nothing you could do, anyway.”

“Yeah, like that makes it okay.”

Castiel sighed and then tugged on Dean’s hand pulling him over to the bed, “Come on, get under the covers where it’s warm.”

He smirked, “You just want to get me into bed, don’t you?”

“Of course, Dean,” he smiled, “I want you to be warm.”

Dean toed his boots off and climbed into the bed, grinning when Castiel moved in next to him, “It’s a while since we’ve done this, huh?”

“It has.” Lips quirking, he pulled the covers up around them both and wrapped his arms around Dean, “And don’t complain, this’ll keep you warm.”

“I can’t feel my toes.” Smirking, Dean pressed a socked foot against Castiel’s leg, laughing when his partner jumped.

“You’re freezing.”

“So you said. I’ve been colder.”

“When?”

He shrugged, “Christmas 1995, my 20th birthday, Sam’s-”

“I wish I could have been there.”

“I don’t. It wasn’t pretty.”

“I’ve probably seen you looking worse.” He frowned at how cold Dean still felt, “Is this normal?”

Shaking his head, Dean turned over in bed and pressed his hand against Castiel’s chest. “Cas, in what possible way could a hunter and an angel in a relationship be normal?”

“I meant your temperature.”

“It’s December - almost Christmas - and it’s freezing outside. Of course I’m going to be cold. Stop worrying.”

“Are you going to stop worrying about Sam?”

“Sam’s my brother.”

“And? You’re my…boyfriend.”

“I can look after myself.”

“So can Sam.”

He opened his mouth to reply but stalled, “Damn.”

“Exactly. So, you know, let me warm you up.”

Dean opened his mouth to give a smart reply but decided against it when he felt Castiel move closer, felt warm feet press against his own, felt soft lips mouth at his neck.

“Do you really think something’s out there?” He ran his hand down Dean’s back, felt him shiver and tugged his top up over his head, throwing it to the floor before taking his own off.

“There’s always something. Hmm, skin on skin. It’s warmer.”

“That’s the idea.”

Laughing, Dean shifted slightly and scraped his teeth across Castiel’s shoulder before lifting his head up to look at him again, “I can think of some other things we can do to keep warm.”
