Wow, a decent post from me...

I really hope you're all enjoying your weekend - anyone have any snow? There's been some quite near to me but none actually where I am yet (although it is forecast.) I had quite a busy day yesterday, went shopping with my sister in the morning (remind me never to go Christmas shopping again - it's so busy and hectic and urrgh!) and then came home ( Read more... )

Sophie high five! :D I think joining leverageland was the best decision I made all year (excluding of course starting to watch Leverage itself lol I can't believe it's not even been a year since I got into the show... feels like forever!)

I read a German translation of Jane Eyre ages ago and I remember I quite enjoyed it. It's on my endless 'reread' list, but there are so many other books that I haven't read before that deserve to be read first, do you know what I mean? xD And besides, I'm so bad at reading lately, it takes so much energy to focus, it's quite horrible... I've started using audiobooks a lot more (oops) and reading/listening to mostly Virginia Woolf novels lately.

I just finished one of the three essays due before Christmas, ugh why do they pile all these things on us NOW? I'd much rather do some crafting, making cards and Christmas presents, but instead I spend most of my time procrastinating my uni work.

*high fives you back* Yes, it's definitely the best decision I made this year - it sounds stupid but being part of the team has made me feel so happy offline as well as on because I've known that there's this awesome place where I can have lots of fun and talk to friends.

I've mainly been reading the stuff I need to read for uni lately, apart from that I've not read much :(

Aww, three essays doesn't sound like fun! I've got one in on the 12th and then two term papers to write that are due when we get back from Christmas (so I can probably do them at some point over the holidays) then just revision to do for an exam I have in Jan which isn't too bad.

Exactly! It's nice being able to look forward to new challenges or results as well. It got me more interested in LJ in general again lol

Yeah, three short essays till Christmas, 2 more after, a 7 page one as well as 2 term papers for March and an exam or two in February *facepalm* Sometimes studying is not pretty.

Yep, it's really helped me with my Leverage writing, too. I've tried more things and I feel like it's helped me get to know the characters better.

It's so cruel giving us stuff to do around Christmas! The one I'm working on now is stupid as well because we only have 750 words and in that we have to talk about three issues. Within each issue, we have to talk about three case studies from different times and places. Which basically means about 50 words to talk about each case study. Even the seminar tutors have told us it's stupid.

Yeah the shorter ones I have to do are usually 800-1000 words (or 2-3 pages, which is MORE). At least you have enough stuff to talk about? I had to summarize the main thesis of The American Scholar and the speech itself only has about 15 pages. I barely made it to my 2 lol

I guess, it's just kind of too much to talk about. Although I guess having to cut words is better than not having enough to start with :)
