Supernatural 7.07 Reaction

I really liked this episode because, even though it was kind of a stand-alone/filler episode, it still linked in with other things that are happening in the season really VERY well. Plus, you know, subtext and brothers being brothers and some really awesome one-liners.

The premise of this episode was very nice in an ironic Supernatural classic way. Like, for example, the death at the start with the Ouija board and things was just very nicely ironic and the type of dark humour that makes the show the show. The whole town of physics thing was also a nice touch.

The nods towards wincest were fun - they even went as far as to use Campbell as the name of the mirror 'brothers' and I liked that :) And then the way they brought them back up at the end, lovely.

I think the rift between them was handled well in this episode because it DID make sense to work together in that situation and there was a decent balance of tension and professionalism towards the beginning. And the ending also made complete sense to me. Dean finally opened up a bit about struggling to trust after Cas and after EVERYTHING else that's happened, Sam seemed to have understood why Dean did what he did once he's had some time to think about it (especially after having to shoot the guy). And a few people have been saying that it's always Sam who apologises/gives in but I kind of have to disagree (everyone'e entitled to their own opinion, though, of course!) because Dean DID apologise last week and Dean isn't the type of person to apologise twice but that doesn't mean Sam doesn't know he's sorry. The whole conversation was more about Sam forgiving Dean than apologising to him.

Anyway, I really did like this episode and I can't wait until next week :)
