Leverage episode reactions

So, I managed to watch both episodes today (yesterday was just crazy busy so I didn't get a chance to watch) and I wanted to let you know what I thought. Fair warning, I'm a bit pressed for time so this might not be quite as detailed/logical as usual. Basically, though, I LOVE THIS SHOW.

The Grave Danger Job:

I've cried more at the show during this season than any other. I don't know whether that's because I'm being more emotional or something at the moment but there are so many bits in these episodes that are getting to me. The premise of this episode was really chilling - it's such a frightening idea; ending up in a coffin when you're still alive/knowing that your friend - your family - is running out of air and you need to get there in time and the whole team was very convincing. I also loved the little nuances - the 'I have just the casket for you' for example which just gained a whole new meaning when you'd already seen Hardison trapped in one. That line really made me shiver.

Eliot having to walk into the middle of a cop's funeral was a nice touch, too, as was the fact that he managed not to be caught/recognised or whatever. And then Parker was hanging from that window and Sophie's 'Bloody hell' was just perfect, as was Nate's attempt at covering when he didn't even know the guy's name. I loved Sophie talking about how the guy's partner was so 'faithful' as well - it was just like her to try and make someone like that feel guilty and it was a nice touch.

Parker's 'how do you care?' in this episode and then, later, her 'I need you' seemed very right. It fits in with how her character has been developing (and it made me think about THAT Parker-Eliot conversation in 4x01.)

'What the hell's an Eliot?' just made me laugh because, boy, are those guys going to remember who Eliot is. (also, I think it might have been intentional/might not have been but either way it was a nice call-back to the Pilot - 'What's a Sophie?')

Can I just say? Eliot's desperate run towards that coffin. THAT WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL HUG AND THE 'DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN.' Show, why are you making me want to write about Eliot/Hardison in my BB fic now. The whole scene screamed out OT3 and OT5 to me, as well. But omg, that hug was possible the best thing ever - it was so long and intense and meaningful and that run was so perfect and....yeah. Can I have hugs like that every episode please? Also, that's interesting when you consider the last Eliot-Hardison 'hug', when Eliot was all "don't hug me - it's awkward" and stuff.

Hardison's little dance was just so perfectly Hardison.

That ending. Just. That ending.

The Boiler Room Job:

Okay, so I was still in a state of sobbing/being gleeful/going 'wow' when I started watching this one and then this was just awesome too and I'm a very happy Megan.

I really liked the premise - the fact that they were going up against this fantastic conman, that they had to be on their game and I loved the misdirection of the con.

Agent McSweeten was back! I think he was in this episode just enough where it was funny but not overkill and it was an interesting contrast to the Parker/Hardison elements of last episode. The bit at the end with the 'hi' and the 'haiku' was just classic Leverage and it was awesome (Also, he's a pretty sweet guy, writing poetry for her. I hope he gets a happy ending.)

Loved the 'grifters are the worst person in the world' and then Sophie's reaction to that.

You know, I always love it when the team argue about which con is which and things. It's so cute.

Count Chocula - the references to giving himself a dumb nickname - THE ICE MAN. Show, ILU. Also, the Chocolate Whisperer? Really. The scene where Sophie was tasting the chocolate was really very beautiful.

Classic Eliot: 'Say the word and I'll come in their and tear their lungs out'

I LOVE the fact that it's a mark, not one of the team, that cottons on to Nate and Sophie sleeping together. I thought it was handled quite nicely in this episode - it was mentioned enough that they weren't ignoring it but it didn't take away from the awesomeness of the con and the team.

Using the victims as part of the con was a nice touch - kind of like in The Snow Job and yay, it's awesome.

This episode was pretty classic Leverage to me and I loved it :)
