Rosh Hashanah: not in Cluj

Sep 28, 2008 18:40

An interesting little snippet I found in the Romanian rag Click: Roman won't be going to Chelsea's Champions League match in Cluj because he'll be celebrating Rosh Hashanah in Israel. A Romanian gadgy is quoted as saying, "Today I talked to the man in confidence and Roman Abramov told me he will not be able to come to Cluj because he has to take part in Israel at a very important religious holiday for him."

The Clujians are upset at missing out on a VIP visit, since for some odd reason they don't get very many of them, but I'm more interested by this insight into Roman's hitherto unsuspected spiritual life. Actually, I think that's the first time I've heard about his celebrating a religious festival ever.
