Well it's the fourth day of Redskins training Camp here in DC and I swear you'd think the super bowl was starting. I’ve never quite understood the obsession with football that some people have. Not to say that I don't love watching football, but I love hockey, baseball, and lacrosse just as much. Unfortunately this is only a precursor to what Ohio will be like between Ohio State, Browns, and Bengals fans. Not only are they blindly loyal, very few even know what they're talking about. I've decided that I need to buy a Ravens jersey and where a Michigan hat or something just to make people angry. I’d rather have to spend another few weeks in this heat than be subjected to those damn chats of “Who Dey, Who Dey, Who Dey think going to beat them Bengals.’ Come on people it’s not even English.

Speaking of Football I'm heading out this evening to Redskins park to cover training camp. I have a media pass with my name on it and everything. After this I have two more days of my internship and I'm done. Now comes time to write my portfolio about what I did this summer. It makes sense, but given the fact that I'm going to also be packing and saying goodbyes all next week, it's going to be hard to get motivated.
Also on the topic of football I found this link http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/08/02/AR2006080201938.html in this morning post. Kinda makes me squirm just reading about it.

In other sports news that’s important to me Alfonso Soriano WASN”T traded from the Nationals like everyone expected. Hopefully this turns out to be a good thing, although I’m still slightly skeptical. I just get the feeling he’s the type of player to make a salary run and then relax when he gets the money. He seemed genuine when I talked to him the other day, and he’s saying all the right things. I want to stay in DC, I love it here, I love the fans etc… We’ll see come November if this is all talk or if he really wants to stay with a rebuilding team.

Finally UD just released out non-conference basketball schedule for this upcoming year. A couple of dates stand out to me right now.
-Tue 11/21/06 Yale
-Fri 11/24/06 vs. Louisville at US Bank Arena is Cincinnati
-Wed 12/06/06 Creighton
-Sat 12/23/06 at Pittsburgh
-Sun 12/31/06 at North Carolina
I can't wait to go to the Louisville game down in Cincinnati. It'll be my first time seeing Dayton play outside of Dayton or DC. Also I'm debating between the games at Pitt and UNC which would make the better road trip. I think Pitt because I have family and friends there, but UNC sounds incredibly tempting.
