And just like that, my second-shift stint is over. Wednesday night I bequeathed the big satchel of files, notes, forms, and equipment over to our newly-hired field technician, so he has officially taken over the oversight portion of this project. I'll probably still be handling the paperwork from this end, but no more late nights. It's funny how I have a love-hate relationship with this project. I'm relieved to no longer be driving 90 miles a day, but I also kind of want to see this monster through to completion since I've been so involved from the beginning. And I kind of miss the construction guys, they're such fun. Ah well.
Of course, getting up at 7 this morning to get back to my "normal" schedule.... sucked.
But Sarah's coming into town today, so life is good. :-) And I'm getting my food processor from mom and dad for my birthday!! Gonna pick it up after work today, then it's time to COOK STUFF! :-)
Already have gotten several birthday cards, and an iTunes gift card from Auntie Erin! Used it to buy an album I heard on the Boston folk station (Lindsay Mac, she plays cello and sings really clever songs). Haven't yet decided what to buy with the remainder of the card, but I know good things will find me. :-)
And Saturday night Sarah and her mom are taking me to see Pilobolus, an amazing modern dance/gymnastics/human sculpture troupe that's coming to Providence. As shameful as it is for me to admit it, this is my first "big girl" modern dance performance.... EVER. I'm a freaking professional modern dancer, I'm about to be 27, and I have still never seen a professional modern dance company's show (that was not affiliated with a college. Granted, I've seen some GREAT stuff through colleges, but it's different!!). So I'm super excited for that.
Tis going to be a great weekend!!
