I started out with some seriously empty-headed stuff - and by the time I reached the conclusion of the Weis/Hickman series, I was nearly ready to off myself. Immediately proceeding on to those particular Hardy books didn't help the situation (amazing books, but not uplifting by any stretch of the imagination). Thankfully, the rest of the books on the list weren't so bad.
