More key madness
I lost my master key today, feh. I did not realize how much I would miss being able to get into any door in the facility. I will probably try to see how many of the places I need to get into can be accessed with my mechanical sub-master in the next couple of days (as long as it doesn't take me out of my way).
I admitted to Rocks that I had the key when entering recently ex-employee's office to get some paperwork. She turned me in to the maintenance manager who sent his boss to claim the key. At that point I gave up the ghost. Afterall, I didn't want to be the one to cause someone to die by denying them three times before the rooster crows or any somesuch.
The thing that cheeses me is that Rocks new I had the key, so why ask? All of the old guard had them, usually by attrition. The only thing I can figure is that there has been an uproar about the extra keys due to the recent loss of the ex-employee next door. Rocks probably lost her key as well.
I got my master over a shutdown from T-bomb. I was the only one around for much of that shutdown and had to get into all kinds of places (and had possibilities of even more). I was surprised when i was able to keep it afterwards.
So, I let boss of the maintenance super know that I had recovered the other key and that I know whom in the old guard had had it before. I gave it to Falcon the day before when he showed up and couldn't get into his office (he wasn't around when the whole lock change happened and therefore had not gotten his keys). Plus, i figured, Falcon is a manager and deserved a master key more than i did. Maybe that admission redeemed me a bit.
So my beloved key got cut to bits on the picinic table outside. I must make a point to go talk to the maintenance super and apologize for lying the other day about it. I am sure he understands. . . . it had been a good near two years though . . . .
