I almost ran away from work today. The weather was painstakingly gorgeous around lunchtime. I walked to the breakroom to get a soda, looking up at the sky the whole way there and back. I am lucky I did not trip.
Today had its minor successes and defeats. Ther equipment I had modified is now in operation. We proved it today (giving me show-and-tell for our client meeting this afternoon). Defeat came as a revision of the proposal that had left my desk two weeks past. A meeting was held about the project between my customer and my former boss about it, without me. At first, I was offended. I soon realized that my former boss is now kinda-sorta reporting to my customer. Gyah. Conflict is sure to arise when T-bomb gets wind of the suggestions. It does give me something to make me put off the things I had planned to do. ;-P
Another success was that we ate in again (steak stirfry with loads of veggies) instead of going out to Popeye's (regular Tuesday fare). I was so ready to cop our because a defeat showed up in that meeting, which ran late. Thank you, foxfirex for convincing me to stick it out.
I also got some good workout mode dancing (ddr) done. 330 calories! We watched the season finale of my favorite current show, The Amazing Race. Counting all my blessings (not discounting the lessons), I guess it was a good day . . .
besides, i would have regreted playing hookey . . . eventually.
