You know what makes me happy? Random emails or msgs (or in this case fb msgs) from people from your past!
I mean besides all the other great things that happened today I was surprised to get a msg from this guy from high school. He was nice, polite, well spoken, and the smartest guy in our school. We weren’t really friends or anything, and since I don’t go by the same name I’m surprised he found me (mutual friends I guess) but it was just really nice to hear from him. I also got a message from another guy I used to be friends with. I’ve actually thought of him a few times recently, especially in light of me reflecting on so many friendships, and I wondered how he was, guess I will find out now.
What else…my 5 hour power nap slash hibernation didn’t help me much at night. I tossed and turned until 5 am and then around 6 I finally got some peace. Seriously no napping today! I had a really yummy lunch and then met up with this girl who I met on my travels. I see her at least once every two weeks and she is so great to be around, very positive, very chilled out, and we’re usually on a similar wave length. We went to the pickle barrel and caught up on stories about our holidays, we discussed my upcoming trip, and then she kept me company while I looked for suitcases. Am I the only person who didn’t know that suitcases were so expensive??? Seriously, 500 dollars? Are you kidding me? Luckily Bentley was having a sale and it was buy one get the second half off, and I found two that were 50 dollars. So both will be under 100, works for me! I’m going to go with my parents to pick them up.
After that we went to chapters to soak in some hot chocolate and literary goodness. I absolutely love chapters. I honestly feel like I could go on and on about it. My dream is to have a library in my home with super comfy chairs, good lighting and a fireplace. I could spend the rest of my life reading… swoon. Anyways as I was daydreaming through the aisles I found 3 more books to add to my collection. First of all I found a hard cover of Archie marries veronica/betty! I can’t even write about it without getting giddy! This story was in so many newspapers and media, it was so crazy exciting, and I can’t believe it’s in hardcover! I must get my hands on it (woo hoo thank god for moms discount). And then the Malcolm Gladwell box set is still calling my name. And oh the coffee table books. My dream house (with my dream guy and our three boys and shades of earth tons) will for sure have the perfect coffee table with coffee table books!
What else, oh sometimes I get frustrated with my best friend… I mean I know our relationship is tough cause he was the love of my life and bla bla bla, but right now he is in my life, I am moving away soon, I am going to miss him beyond anything he knows, and he is the ONLY person I can talk to about everything and anything. I miss the days we could talk on the phone for hours about everything.
