Malaysia Day 4

Feb 09, 2011 13:25

Today was my last day in Kuala Lumpur as at midnight I have to catch the bus back to Singapore. I woke up in the morning and went with 2 other girls in my room to the post office. There is no way I can continue walking around with this bag full of stuff, it starts getting lighter NOW. So I got rid of a few clothes that have seen better days, and I mailed some of my stuff home. It cost about $100 to do but I figure its worth it, and I really don't need that much stuff anyways. On my way back to the hostel this guy randomly approached me. I don't know if its because of the hat I wear or the fact that I am a lot more tanned, but people always think I am Spanish, as did he. He was a teacher from Canada and had lived in Spain several years teaching English and was now doing the same thing in KL. We had a nice little conversation for a few stops.

After I came back I needed to check out (like 2 hours ago, but the mom said it was ok), so I packed my bags (somehow my bag was still full) and I went for some food with Patrick (that was the guy who shaved my head). I asked them if it was ok for me to hang out in the hostel because I really didn't know where I would go with the bed and I was exhausted. They had a lounge area on the second floor and said I was more then welcome to stay. I was curled up on the couch in the middle of writing post cards and I guess I must have dozed off. The next moment I woke up was when I heard the word Canada. There was another girl there, who turned out to be from Ottawa and we hit it off quite quickly. She was smart, funny, and also traveling the world, and of course a fellow Canadian. We talked for awhile about anything and everything, and I wish I had met her before. For some reason I have met very few Canadians so far. Anyways, we decided to go towards times square (Note I almost died from a motorcycle),and we checked the bus schedule for her, next we found a small place and ordered some food. From there we went to the Pavillion and checked that out, all the chocolate was very tempting but everything had closed and instead we marveled at the European feel of the place. We took a few pics and wished each other well on our journeys. I quickly rushed back with just a few minutes to say good bye...this place had really felt like home, and jumped into a cab for the bus station. The driver was really nice and made sure I was completely ok and found my bus. Upon getting on it I realized this was no first class bus. The seats, the people, the crowd, the smell, oh well just 10 hours until I get back to Singapore.

I can survive that long.
