I think the kid's family shoulders more blame than the Make-A-Wish foundation (since the foundation would not have allowed it unless an adult guardian was with him). Also, the "kid" is 17-years-old (just one year shy of legal adulthood). And I suspect that Make-A-Wish would have said "no" if he had been, say, a 14-year-old boy instead.
....or at least I HOPE they would.

HOWEVER, it's total bullshit that they would send a teenager to a festival that is NOTORIOUS for it's rampant drug use and overall debauchery; but wont fund a hunting trip. If the charity is gonna set limits on what wishes are acceptable (which, IMO, is probably a good idea), than they need to be sensible about it.

Also, it's not like this kid still couldn't have his wish. Here's what I would have done if I were in charge of handing out wishes for that charity....
Instead of sending him to off to swim in "Hepatitis Lake", maybe just get the band to give him a private concert in a place that isn't filled with drug bridges and rivers flowing with STDs. Just a thought. :P

That last point you made - that's what I'm talking about. Even spending the day with them I'm sure would have been great for him.

Also, I think any kid would be WAY happier having his favorite band give a private concert just for him and his pals than just going to a festival where the band's attention is too focused on the preforming schedule and other fans to spend any real time with him. That's what I would have gone for when I was a teenager.

...then again, maybe this boy cared more about visiting the drug bridge, the diseased lake, and the cheap (and also diseased) lap-dancers than he cared about that stupid band. LOL
