So sick of this meme
Anyone else tired of the whole religious = uneducated meme? I haven't encountered anyone on my flist saying much about it, but liberals in various comms love to push the whole notion that religious people (especially conservative ones) are stupid. It's like being an atheist or "spiritual but not religious" (with apologies to anyone here who consider themselves to be such) is enlightened and highly educated while the religious people - to any varying degree - are the stupid, backwards hicks.
I saw a tweet from Bill Maher today. I don't follow him, but apparently the wonderful Jared Padalecki from Supernatural does because he favorited it, and someone in one of the comms I read sometimes just had to mention it (and find it awesome).

I'm tired of the whole thing. I'm Catholic and consider myself fairly religious but I don't try to step on people's toes and tell them how I think they should worship (or not at all). I hate when people generalize and make it sound like anyone religious at all is a dumb kook.
Rant over. I've just had enough. I'm officially ignoring anything Mr. Padalecki says now... at least his costar doesn't get involved in stuff like this...
