Today, in 1944, over 160,000 allied troops from Canada, Britain, Free French resistance, Polish resistance, and the United States took part in one of the most daring operations ever, Operation Overlord, D-Day, the invasion to liberate Europe from oppression and tyranny.

This video here is the commemoration on the 40th anniversary, in 1984, by President Ronald Reagan, but his words still carry relevance today.
