Brit Hume ended up in hot water because he said on a Fox News show that maybe Buddhism wasn't working out for Tiger Woods and maybe he ought to look into the kind of redemption and forgiveness the Christian faith offers to put his life back together. I haven't seen the backlash, but I can imagine it. I did watch the orginal video of him speaking. All he did was state the teachings of the Christian faith vs. the teachings of Buddhism. All he did was briefly state what each religion teaches: Christianity teaches in a personal God who forgives sins if one repents and asks for forgiveness. Buddhism has no comparable teaching. It does not teach of a personal God, and it does not teach the concept of sin the way it's understood in the Bible. I don't see what is so offensive about merely stating what any religion teaches. You can get that from any source book or website. The followers of each religion would say the same thing. It's bizarre.
But yeah, I knew the second I heard it that he would be in hot water. (I had no idea he was even a Christian at all, so it was surprising to me!) I'm not sure if it was he himself who said it, or someone else commenting on the whole thing, but I recall a statement that the minute you mention Jesus Christ, all hell breaks loose. Ain't that the truth!
But even that's talked about in the Bible. The world hated Jesus. The world hates His followers. It really is as simple as that.

That was Brit Hume as well. He went on The O'Reilly Factor and elaborated on his statement about Tiger Woods and talked a little bit about his faith in Christ. It was... refreshing.

Glad that Brit has continued to have an on-screen presence at Fox. There's a lot that I can skip on that channel and not care, but I never miss 6pm.
