for the sake of those who haven't read the book yet:
POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW!!

I dunno I mean it wasn't terrible but it just paled in comparison to the other books. This one was less action packed. Not much real action happened until the end. There wasn't very much quidditch in this one either. Speaking of I found the fact that Gryffindor still made first place a little unbelievable. Three hundred is a lot of points. I didn't find the new DADA teacher very interesting. Also like most people I don't think I ever fully believed Snape was on the good side either so that wasn't too much of a shock. I didn't cry over the death in this book like so many people I know. I cried over Sirius though. And even though I've been a Ginny/Harry shipper from the beginning after awhile the everyone falling in love stuff started to kill me. Parts were just like a fanfiction or something. I'm curious about how the next book'll go though, seeing how Harry says he's not going back to Hogwarts even if they do open. Also who do you think'll be the new headmaster? McGonagall seems like the best guess if it doesn't turn out to be somebody unknown. And who is RAB? Damn J.K. and her cliffhangers!

I agree that the snogging aspect was a little unexplored territory for her, but I didn't think it was bad - but maybe a little amateurish, yes. If nothing else, I'm just happy that all the shipper stuff is more or less settled, at least as far as the canon goes.

As far as Snape goes, I tended to hold the theory that Dubledore trusted Snape because he wanted to - I think he knew that Snape was still working for Voldemort but that he didn't want to give up on him. I think he thought he could possibly save him, as it were. So when Snape offed 'em, and he was like, "Severus, please..." or something like that, I felt even more sure. So anyways what I'm saying is that I found it to be great, because I was sure that Dubledore would end up turning him good....the whole power of love thing. So yeah, making it darker wasn't quite expected as of yet. I was already expecting Dubledore to die sooner or later, but I didn't think it'd be in this book. I was a little disappointed in how easy he was dispatched though.

I don't think McGonagall'll be the headmistress. I don't think she has the neccessary leadership qualities. I think either the ministry'll step in, or that the school won't open. Just my initial thoughts.

Ugh, now for another year wait. Le Sigh.

Oh, and right now I think that RAB is a "bad guy" that wants to show Voldemort that he isn't all-powerful. Although, I think it would also make sense for RAB to be an unveiled "good guy"; God knows Harry needs some unexpected allies right now. I mean, Snape by himself seems a bit much.

I honestly think we haven't found out the true reason why Dumbledore trusted Snape yet. Rowling has indicated that we'll find out more about Dumbledore's reasons in the next book, so I dunno...Do you think that it's possible that Dumbledore knew about Snape's unbreakable vow to Narcissa? I think that's an interesting thought to run with...

I think RAB is Regulus Black! Sirius's brother. Yeah, and I'm not the first person who's thought that, I know. But it makes sense that Sirius would say that Regulus got too far in with Voldemort, got scared, and backed out. What if his backing out wasn't so cowardly, and he got the Horcrux? Also, Harry finds a locket in Grimmauld Place in the fifth book, which furthers the case for Regulus Black.

Another year's wait? It'll be more than that :(
