I just got four e-mails containing that Sober worm thing in like five minutes. Thank goodness for Yahoo's top-notch spam filtering... then again, another one was in my Inbox when I got home tonight. Either way, I'm not that fucking dumb ( Read more... )

AmEx has its moments, no question. Some bad, some good. Nobody told me to put $918 worth of crap on my card, but I did it anyway. I lived beyond my means for one month, had a great time, and now I am paying the price. But I must admit that the "pay it all off now or else" rule works for me because the bill gets paid instead of interest racking up.

Also, if not for AmEx, I wouldn't have this iMac G5 - since I have no credit limit for this card, all I had to do was get them to approve the charge, which they did with no problems.

Truth be told, I have an AmEx because my credit blows and this is the one company that actually gave me credit. So I'll sing their praises till the cows come home.

Rocky IV was awesome, though it was pretty much a generic 80's action movie with familiar characters and boxing as the catalyst rather than, say, a war or whatever. I liked Rocky V a lot more than most people do, even though they tried way too hard to make it as much like the original as possible. My all-around favorite is probably Rocky III, followed by the original, Rocky IV, Rocky II, and Rocky V.

Stop me now, I could go on forever about my love for the Rocky franchise.

Why the hell won't your Menu button work? That's just strange. Did you buy the protection plan?

The $918 was a bunch of random shit ($300 for Cory's Valentine's Day gift, $150 for the hotel last weekend, a few dinners here and there, like $300 for the family's cable bill) and it added up quite quickly. My bad. The computer actually cost approximately double that and (somehow) was paid off in advance of the due date. I actually charged that one on the very day my new cycle began, so I had 45 days to pay for it. It was pretty cool.

I'd watch all the Rocky movies one day. I have the original box set that cost $90 (thankfully, it was a gift from Cory). But it sucks because two of them are widescreen and the others aren't. Two of them have digital sound and the others don't. The trailer for Rocky IV has a scene that wasn't in the movie and they didn't bother to put it as an extra. It was a pretty shitty boxed set - I heard the new one has all-new video and audio transfers, but not much else.

More to say on this trip later... but we were at Johnny Rockets right before we left, and we saw this black dude wearing a vest. On the back of the vest were two playing cards - Ace and King.

Remind me to tell everyone else about that - I forgot to mention it to them.
