New Column Up In The AM

This one's a good one. It's about EA and its recent string of exclusive deals. I'm not defending EA so much as I'm trying to explain their side of the story. I think it's going to be a pretty big "must-read ( Read more... )

Now, explain their purchase of the ESPN license, because THAT is nothing but EA being greedy and monopolistic.

I'll look forward to reading the column tomorrow. I have little personally against EA, and their side of the story is pretty well "We like money", in a nutshell. Should be interesting to see how you elaborate on their money grubbing ways.

Now, it's 1:30 am, I have a 10:00am class, and I'm still hyped from staying up and watching the downloaded episode of 24.

The NFL's love of exclusive deals doesn't justify anything, it just gave EA an idea that the NFL obviously thought was a good one. It shouldn't be that big of a surprise ( ... )

The thing that's frustrating about my argument is that nobody wants to hear it. They'd rather be mad about it instead. The truth is, I bought both games the day they came out last year. I had more fun with Madden than I did with NFL 2K5. Not to say it was the better game, but I played it a lot more.

The choice issue is definitely one that's hard to get over, but football fans are going to buy Madden because they need their football fix. And I'd bet that everyone "boycotting" EA will give Madden a try. Especially if EA does their part and makes the game as good as it can be.

And it's good to be back.
