diary of a repair/rebuild...

Jeremy said his guitar was having trouble - when it worked, it was too noisy for his liking, and recently it had started being all static-y and wouldn't put out any signal.

So I opened it up. Looks like an ashtray spilled on it. The control cavity was full of ash and dirt, the pots and switch were all gummed up with it. The switch was clearly worn out anyway and it looked like at least one pot was gonna go out soon, so I'm just going to redo the wiring completely and save the hassle of him bringing it back in a few months.

Unfortunately, the replacement control pots aren't the same size by a hair, and not having a drill bit of proper size I had to invent one by wrapping sandpaper around a screwdriver and spinning the pickguard around it to widen the hole a little bit. (lol)
