So, the Bruins lost. But when it goes to a shootout, you get a point anyway, and the winning team gets two points. At least, I think that's how it works. It's a bit like soccer, and I still don't really understand why a sport trying to make it in the US keeps taking cues from pro soccer, which NO ONE here cares about, but whatever: the point is, the Bruins lost.
I've listened to the last couple games online, but for some reason I can't usually can't get WBZ. So tonight I heard mostly the Leafs broadcast. I really do hate the Leafs, I have to say. I explained this in detail to my sister, who couldn't care less about hockey if she tried, and she was incredibly patient with me. For example, she didn't flinch no matter how often I growled Shut UP, Darcy Tucker! at the computer. The Leafs just piss me off, as do many of their fans. I remember the Leafs fans from McGill and how they used to wear their outdated Toronto Gilmour jerseys to Leafs-Habs games, even though at the time Doug Gilmour was playing for the Habs. Morons. And don't get me started on the "Go Leafs Go!" chant. They suck, dudes. Their Cup drought is longer even than the Bruins', and the incorrect pluralization in the name has always bothered me.
The other thing I've noticed is that the play by play guys on other stations seem to be really, really enamored of Hal Gill. They're like "Hal Gill...he's so tall! Hal Gill has enormous reach!" and so on. Weird.
Anyway, that's all for tonight.
