Today my school president was forced to resign because a group of southern, old money, white-males who disregard the will of the students decided he was too progressive. Just super. 2,000 people(out of a school of 5,000) rallied outside the President's house tonight and sang the alma mater. It was one of the most moving experiences I have had here. He told us that the one thing we could do for him is go out and act on whatever we believe in, no matter the consequence.

Thank you for two years of a true, liberal arts education, Gene Nichol. You brought 400 years of my college into a new era based on diversity, creativity, opportunity, and service.

on a separate note: Why am I having such a hard time leaving a place I can barely stand to go back to?
