And I was having such a bad morning

Oct 14, 2004 16:04

I just got off the phone with my agent, and I landed the Molson commercial! YEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAWWW!!!

(Typing it isn't as good as verbal expression, but I can't shout joyously while at the office, so this will have to do)

This is very big for me for many reasons. In fact, let me bullet point them:

  • It's a huge boost for me emotionally, as after a couple dozen auditions this past year I was really getting down on myself.
  • It counts as my first union credit, which means I can be (in fact, I think I have to be) an ACTRA apprentice, which means...
  • My agent can now submit me for the larger and better paying union-only roles, like those in feature films. (Sweet!)
  • It's actually two commercials (I'll explain later) so I'm getting paid double the normal rate for one day of work.
  • The exposure from a national commercial will be kickass, both professionally and personally. (until it's played 3000 times, but I'll worry about that later)
  • One word: residuals.

This totally makes up for sitting in sweet & sour sauce on the bus to work this morning. More to come...
