I just got off the phone with my agent, and I landed the Molson commercial! YEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAWWW!!!
(Typing it isn't as good as verbal expression, but I can't shout joyously while at the office, so this will have to do)
This is very big for me for many reasons. In fact, let me bullet point them:
- It's a huge boost for me emotionally, as after a couple dozen auditions this past year I was really getting down on myself.
- It counts as my first union credit, which means I can be (in fact, I think I have to be) an ACTRA apprentice, which means...
- My agent can now submit me for the larger and better paying union-only roles, like those in feature films. (Sweet!)
- It's actually two commercials (I'll explain later) so I'm getting paid double the normal rate for one day of work.
- The exposure from a national commercial will be kickass, both professionally and personally. (until it's played 3000 times, but I'll worry about that later)
This totally makes up for sitting in sweet & sour sauce on the bus to work this morning. More to come...
