I am so not ready for the humidex.
I was waking up to my clock radio, and I hear Humble & Fred talking about a high of 26C, but with the humidity it's going to feel like 34. I thought they were joking, but I checked the weather network and it was confirmed. Sonuvabeetch! Last week the high was 9, and it went below freezing overnight.
That is one of my gripes with my beautiful homeland: Canada lacks acclimatization time. What's worse is the environment is a federal issue, and with an election about to be called, I know that my requests to my MP for legislation to deal with this problem will simply be placed in a drawer. Grr.
I sweat enough as it is being a fat guy. When it's too muggy for the sweat to evaporate, it's simply hellish. I go through far too many undershirts in a week just trying not to feel like a giant salt lick. (note to self: trip to Mark's Work Warehouse needed)
You know, I was about to type that I missed winter, but just the memory (and none too distant) of it was enough to give me a reality check. I think I need to go and make some iced tea or something and calm down a bit.
