i recently got into Roseanne (the show). i've been a fan for about 3 weeks.
i appreciate it a lot more now than i did way back when. sure, i'm a laggard;
i missed out. i got into it WAY later than everyone. i'm an asshole for that.
but being a thoughtless asshole has nothing to do with this entry. what matters
is that i think this show is one of the most honest shows i've ever watched.
"comedy" is just one of the many ingredients to why i think this show
was genius. but most importantly, the story was REAL. it wasn't PHONY, like
some miserable story of 30-somethings living large in the big city dealing with
superficial bullshit left & right ...or some incredibly dull show starring
hollywood's best hair....best juggs....best cock-duster 'stache on a man ....
..best "stick" for a body.....best mole on the fucking face. a big
"FUCK OFF" to you, you incredibly dull show. no thanks, cus i've settled
with roseanne. Roseanne was real and unpretentious at the time. and it still is
real and unpretentious to me, in 2007.
the REAL.....is every reason why i leave my television set on nick@nite all night
long on volume bar 12 (quiet enough to fall asleep and loud enough to laugh in my
dreams). i often wake up in the middle of the night to roseanne's ultra witty
remarks and john goodman's "hip-trip" elvis impersonations. and i
welcome them every night, at any hour, every time.
