You know that scene, in like... 213 or 214, a few episodes after Lindsay & Melanie's wedding? When they pretend to be Mr. and Mrs. Kinney (Does that mean Gus's last name is Kinney? Hmm) for Gus to get into playschool? And she says that she used to think that's how it would end up? And he says no, and she looks crushed? And he says "It doesn't mean I don't love you."
I? LOVE this scene. After she asks him if he ever thought they'd end up this way and before he says no, he pauses for a second and has this *look* on his face. And it could be me bullshit theorizing too much, but I have this thing where I think that sometimes Brian's expressions say more and, a lot of the time, contradict the words that actually come out of his mouth. So, I think that part of that pause and his look of nervousness/sadness/relief/whatever could show that maybe once he HAD thought they'd end up together with a kid, etcetc. However, if he said that to Lindsay at that point in their lives, it kind of makes the situation worse because it might make Lindsay feel like they had made a mistake by not being together, or something along those lines. Then again, Brian Kinney would never say that, so who the hell knows. There's a point in there, somewhere, I just kind of lost it.
