So perhaps there are great things that can be done by motivated people. When the undergraduate student body unites, or part of the Penn State body, they can do most anything. Even move time itself, perhaps. Due to a vast governmental and university conspiracy, spring break was moved back a week, all because they wanted to stop the partying that is present during St. Patrick's day. An austere saint who frequently slept on rocks to humble himself, preached a message of self-control and humility, and the holiday is known for green and alcohol, green beer being the tragic mix. Not until recently has it been a party holiday, due to a tragic disillusion that Irish people are alcoholics.

But they moved the drinking holiday, where the bars open at 8 am, to today, they do this so they can have a day of debauchery. Actually formed petitions and such to get bars to comply, they who leach money from the students were more than happy to indulge them and the insatiable appetite to remove their minds from the false troubles of a safe and satiated society. I don't think that drinking is bad, oh, perhaps I do when it results in a loss of control, rape and vehicle deaths would defintitely go down. Found out that if not for alcohol and alcoholism and the fact that Pennsylvania is in the stone age and has no mandatory law for motorcycle people to wear helmets, we'd have a hard time finding patients with traumatic brain injury to study. Go think, almost all TBI cases, in the words of the research tech, involve some substance abuse comorbidity. You can see it in the brain, see how that stuff just burns people out.

But you know, instead of making a drive to fight world hunger or to make stuff better, they go and change the calendar so they can drink. If all the money spent on liquor were spent on feeding the hungry, heating the poor, how much less would they suffer? But whatever, we have earned our privileges and just need some way to move our consciences off of it, by saying we're doing what is good. I give up on politics and they're all evil, two party systems just leave for strange bedfellows. the union of every cause of someone who is apparently getting their rights trampled on, from people who accidently get pregnant and want to eliminate that to the animal and tree huggers, to the pacifists and etc on one side to the union of business, guns, and the ones who worship a man who preached humility and peace on the other. And none are close to right. Academia is so disconnected from the world that they won't change a thing.

Perhaps one should run but that's the worst. I will take it upon my back, if necessary, if perhaps I had an idea how to. To actually create a mission to save the world, not from the vices of global warming or from the AIDS epidemic, but from what the root of it all is, and that's inequity. While I eat enough calories for a week on a three dollar burger, they starve.

But that is the way it is. and that is why the rich will burn in hell when they are dead, unless they can do something to ameliorate the others.
