Character Information:

Character Name: Scott Summers
Age: 33
Canon: X-Men Film Trilogy
Appearance:

Scott is a very good looking guy (he's played by James Sexyasfuck Marsden, so of course he is). Dark brown hair, which is usually neatly coiffed, the greatest cheekbones you will ever see, and a lean, muscular build. Of course, you see all of these attributes after you get passed the dark red sunglasses he always has to wear (see abilities for further info on those). They help give him a more dark, mysterious look, I guess you could say.

Personality:

Scott Summers is, first and foremost, a natural born leader. He’s the guy who makes the tough decisions, and knows from experience not to bat an eye if someone complains. He is efficient, and organized, usually always in control. It takes a lot to get under his skin, but when something does... Ooh boy. Scott is incredibly stubborn, someone who, when his mind is made up, cannot be changed in the slightest. To the people who don’t know him, he comes off as stiff, humourless, and distant. More often than not, Scott can be described as an overgrown boyscout, as he will always follow the orders given to him. However, there's no need to think that the stick up Scott's ass is in there too deep. He does have a sense of humour (a very dry one), and even manages to smile (in public) at least once a year. But when the situation calls for it, he is nothing but business.

While he will not admit it outloud, Scott is extremely protective over the people he loves, with good reason. He knows firsthand how quickly loved ones can slip through your fingers, being oprhaned during a traumatizing experience, jumping from one foster home to the next... honestly, the list can go on, but to sum it up: Scott Summers knows a thing or two about the pain of loss.

His over-protectiveness can easily go together with his distant behavior, mentioned earlier. He's seen too many people he cares about die, and this has led him to keep the new people he gets close to at an arms length. He fears that the minute he gets close to someone, something terrible will happen. The only other people who know of the insecurities are Professor Xavier and Scott's fiancee, Jean.

Scott is incredibly smart. Not freakishly so, but the fact that his is capable of identifying the geography of any area he's in just be giving it a quick sweep over with his eyes says a lot about the guy. He's someone who can have several plans and battle strategies rattling around in his head twenty-four/seven, being able to whip out an idea with a snap of his fingers. So the fact that he's constantly over-analyzing situations could play a part with him being so uptight.

Scott has good instinct, and a strong-moral sense when killing is concerned. But when something drives him over the edge, it's hard to tell how he will react. He isn't afraid of conflict when the moment arises, and there are times where he can be the first one to attack. A good leader and grand master always plans ahead. Fuck, he sounds like Magneto now.

Background:

Ooo-kay! Going with what several others do involving these characters and I'm taking the beginning of Scott's comic!canon into his movie canon. Like, regarding whether or not Alex is his brother, I've just come to determine that there are several aspects of his childhood that Scott doesn't remember. So, maybe he has a brother, or maybe he doesn't. Let's see where this takes us.

The lack of continuity is staggering!

Canon point:

Hey. Hey. Do you guys know that one part in that really great movie, X-Men: The Last Stand? You know what I'm talking about: where a super depressed, scruffy but still very sexy Scott visits Jean's watery grave at Alkali Lake? He gets mad at the water, blasts it, and a crazy-hot-chick who looks like his dead fiancee emerges? Then they make out a little, and Scott's skin goes all funny?

Yeah, I'll be taking him from right after that. Should be interesting, right? Y'know, seeing that he's considered to be dead.

Special Abilities:

Scott's primary mutation allows him to project immense beams of concussive energy from his eyes, something people have come to refer to as 'optic blasts'. But due to a head-injury he retained as a young boy, he finds himself unable to control that energy-- meaning, it doesn't have an off-switch. To keep his optic blasts in check, he must constantly wear a pair of specialized sunglasses with ruby-quartz lenses. Scott also owns a visor which is lined with the same powdered substance; that fantastic head gear allows him to set just how much kinetic energy he wants to let out. He is immune to any effects of his mutation, and probably immune to Alex's as well >.>.

Basically, we can simply say he has light-sabers coming from his eyes, right? ...Right?

His secondary mutation, something plenty of people would probably laugh at, is his uncanny ability of spatial awareness. This helps him when shooting his optic blasts off of certain objects, because by now, everyone should know that Cyclops never misses.

Scott is also an expert tactician and pilot, the latter a skill he inherited from his father. He's also highly trained in several different forms of hand to hand combat.

Third Person:

I was going to write a different third person sample with a depressed, broody Scott, but then I started to get depressed just thinking about it, so... have a third person sample from X-2, if that floats your boat just fine! But if you want, I can always type up a new sample. It would be no problem.

"Nice shades."

Scott cast the security guard a steely look. "Thanks."

Nice shades. Because he had never heard that before.

He watched silently as Professor Xavier was permitted access into Magneto's plastic prison, shoving down his disgruntled annoyance with the fact that he could not go inside with him.

Keeping his primary attention on the cell, Scott noted the suspicious looks the guards surveyed him with. He ignored them, casually standing up straighter, clasping his hands behind his back. The Professor trusted him to be smart, to keep a cool head; he was here as a precaution.

Scott thought of Jean, wondering how she and Storm were fairing in Boston. He hoped she wasn't straining herself too hard. Her confession at the musuem was only a small part of the puzzle she didn't seem intent on sharing with him. Something that frustrated him more than he let on. Throw Logan back into the mix--

One of the guards chuckled about something. Scott stiffened, before giving the two men a long, hard look. It clamped both of them up, giving Scott a small twinge of satisfaction.

He started to pace.

A long time ago, Scott learned not to question the relationship between Xavier and Magneto. They still managed to be civil for a reason. But he'd be damned if he didn't know what kept them talking for so long.

The guards were strangely silent now, tinkering with something that no doubt connected to Magneto's cell. Scott made the mistake of giving them his full attention for just a second--

"SCOOTTTT!"

The Professor's cry of panic, and then sudden wave of pure distress that shot through his mind made Scott whip around, alarms and whistles blaring. Dammit, they should have--

He whirled back around at a new noise from behind him. A woman entered the room, raising what appeared to be a gun. She pulled the trigger, three darts hitting Scott in the shoulder. A slight wooziness hit him, but he shook it off, taking down the guards and the woman with two minor blasts.

Scott spun back towards the entrance of the cell, adjusting the switch on the side of his visor, prepared to bust the door open. Just hold on, Professo-- A noise distracted him again. The woman was getting up. The sight of that gave Scott and wave of frustration and panic. His optic blasts never failed when it came to keeping someone down.

The woman launched herself at him, pinning him to the door. The last thing Scott recalled was the Professor's voice fading from his mind, before the woman cracked him across the face, his world of red immediately going black.

Anything Else:

I say room him with his BFF Logan. Funtimes are on the horizon if that happens!
