i saw mystic river tonite (finally) and i must say it was quite good. it was well written and directed (the oscar nods in those categories were well deserved) and it was GREAT to see kevin bacon back doing good movies (i've always had a soft spot for ol' bacon-bits). sean penn got the oscar nomination for best actor and tim robbins got the nod for best supporting actor. jesus christ, have you seen this movie?! tim robbins was fucking amazing. he always is though. i love that fucker. penn was good but not great. tim - the academy owes you one.
the real question here is why did i not know tim robbins directed 'dead man walking' until now? he got nominated for best directing for that film while penn was nominated for best actor for the role. those two know how to pick projects together, that's for sure.
