Ahh, yes, time to read the newspaper. Robotnik's favorite morning task; find out what was going on in the city. For all he knew he could find something of interest to do for the day. Something to steal, perhaps? Or people to terrorize? Or even minions to call upon? He walked over and sat down in his chair, looking out of his airship down at Diamond City. He began reading, sifting through the main headlines...
...until something caught his eye.
Strange pink jewel hauled to Diamond City Museum.
Well, that certainly caught his attention. He read on.
'After its unveiling, this rare jewel, known to many as a 'Chaos Emerald,' was moved to the Diamond City Museum after a very difficult government discussion. It was decided that the jewel was too precious, and rumored to be too powerful, to be put in anything less than maximum security. As such, it is currently on display for all the tourists and residents to see, however under some of the most extensive security currently available in the town.'
"Bwahahaha! Not even a day here, and a Chaos Emerald literally shows itself to me!" grinned the maniacal scientist as he sipped his coffee. "It looks like I already have a job here... ohoho!"
However, even Robotnik realized that going in full force would not be the best answer - if he was going to remain in Diamond City, he had to keep a good image until the time was right to strike. But he could not allow the emerald to rest in the museum - anyone could be after it, and that stubborn hedgehog would no doubt eventually find him here someday.
There was only one other option.
Get someone else to do it.
And just as he thought that, his eyes scanned the bottom of the page, seeing an advert for... mercenaries for hire? This was too rich! All he had to do was give one of them a call... Leon or Wolf? He decided upon Leon. It didn't really matter which he chose, right? It had information linking to his journal on the internet. Well, time to give him a little offer he can't refuse.[/narration]
