Lesson of Common Sense #2 (brb)

Brb is the most widely used, but yet most misused internet word. And the worst culprits for using Brb improperly are girls. No offense to the ladies but it is true.

Allow me to state what the abbreviation stands for Brb = Be Right Back. Which means leaving for a few moments but returning shortly. Be Right back means you need to answer the phone or take out the trash or pee. Brb should only be used when planning on returning shortly. A good time frame is 1-10 minutes.

There the understanding that it might take a little longer and you may come back later. But if it is a perennial thing then that’s something different. You don’t tell someone that you will "brb" then head off East Chuckofuck.

That person will probally think oh they need to do something quick I will wait around until they return. But then they never do.

Lets put this into a real life situation. Lets say you are out with a friend or something and you say be right back. (I hope to god that you dont say brb in real life since that would just be sad). You depart from your friend and come back 20 minutes later or never return. What you will have on your hands is either a worried friend or a pissed off friend. So it is just common curtiousy to say if you arent coming back for a while.

You could say "Ill be back in a little while" meaning you should return within like 1/2 an hour or so. But that is to much typing so the safe bet which gives no time frame is "I’m Out" "Out Bithches" "Ill be back later" "~insert name here~ out" "Peace out" or the lazy person with the same number of letters as "brb" is simply "out" which means leaving with no intentions of coming back soon which is ok since you ladies say "brb" and have it mean the same thing. Or another word that could be used is "gone."

I hope this was a good lesson in proper internet etiquette. I hope you have learned the proper use of this highly misused word. And I shall end this entry with "Scott Out" since I don’t know when I will return to update. So Scott Out
