We took Leif to the pool today. Much fun was had.

It's the first time he's gone in a pool since the swimming lessons at six months. He enjoyed it much more.

Gee, he enjoys swimming much more when it's over 100 out than when it is below freezing. I guess he's human :)

We intended to go when the pool opened at 1:00, but Leif fell asleep at 12:30. This actually turned out better - we still had plenty of time at the pool before it closed, Leif wasn't grumpy as he would have been if we'd gone before his nap, and, predictably, he got to sleep nice and early. If we'd gone earlier, he'd probably have taken a long late nap.

There were two pools (actually 4, but only 2 that were relevant to us) - the infant pool, which was about a foot and a half deep, and the middle pool, which was about 3 and a half feet deep. Leif kept wanting to go in the middle pool, but hated it that his feet couldn't touch the bottom. I think he liked being submerged, but wanted to stand.

Somehow, I fit into a size 10 bathing suit. And I managed to leave said bathing suit at the pool. Oops.

Then we went and ate sushi. Leif loves sushi, and adored watching the little boats of sushi float by. Sushi and boats - can life get any better for a toddler? It did, though. We had ice cream afterwards.

food, leif
