Egads! Oddly, I don't usually feel bad when people are eliminated via voting (because that's the natural order of things and we'll nearly all be voted out that way) but I hate seeing players leave in other ways. I have very much enjoyed the work of both cheapxdate and witchwife and am very sorry to see them go.

Thank you, prog_shlock! I am sad to be leaving the competition, but some extra responsibilities I had come up this week just made it impossible to get my pieces finished. I never ever imagined I'd get so far in my first season, so I am not regretful whatsoever. I've struggled with time management issues and the length of my writing getting away from me ALL season so I knew it would probably contribute to my eventual elimination, but it's something I'm going to work on for next season!

Your comments on my pieces have always been so thoughtful and interesting and you've shared so many cool stories and videos. You always take the time to read and really think about the writing and then give such thorough feedback... it's such an amazing thing to receive as a writer and I've appreciated it so much!

The advantage could be huge, especially given how close most of the members of this Top 10 are personally.

Which means that even though it's technically "secret", I'm sure everyone is going to know within an hour of me telling the two people. :)

So maybe I should just announce it when the poll closes.

A technical question for you, Gary! If the same person gets the top votes in each poll, will you still award the secret power to two people - and how will you choose who the other person is, in that case?

On the one hand, WOW, top ten, y'all! We made it! Congrats and high fives all around!

On the other hand, I'm sad to see witchwife and cheapxdate out of the running in this way, in particular. :/

On the third hand, a non-elimination poll! Gary, it looks like the velociraptors got to you after all. That's understandable. They are terrifying!

I am prepared for the pain. Nope. Not at all. So sad to see witchwife sacrifice this close to the end, and for cheapxdate to miss a deadline is beyond sad. I ache for both of you. I hope that we'll see you in the Home Game. I am hoping to post on Sunday. Maybe I'll see you there.

Your enthusiasm and thoughtfulness has been so wonderful throughout the whole season. While I'm certainly sad to leave the competition, it was unavoidable given my lack of time this week and I have no regrets! Submitting something unfinished that I wasn't proud of would have been a much more painful way to go out after all the successes and highs I've felt throughout the competition. I really need to work on my time management and curbing the length of my writing and so I'm looking forward to practicing during the Home Games!

Well..er..I guess witchwife has used two topics to write one entry. Her heading says so..Though I may be wrong. Just wondering if it's a sacrifice or a misunderstanding as to what was expected.

It was a sacrifice. I ended up being called in to work before I could finish the entry that I was working on. I used this as a sacrifice instead - it's not something that I was fully satisfied with, but it did the trick to at least not make my departure in vain.
