I think my biggest question really is how the writing's going to work. Is it going to be like Intersections? Because ow, ow, ow, my brain, ow. But with a good group, that can be really fucking painless, too, at the same time.
Honestly - I think that is going to depend on the group.
I'm not going to *tell you* how the dynamics of your group are going to be - you are going to have to figure out how to make it work with what you want to do.
I didn't know whether there'd be stipulations on how the groups could work together. I saw some of your additional answers and I am feeling even more enthusiastic for this. Yes. Yes.
My question is going to be: Do the contestants get to choose their own team-mates, or will it be a schoolyard pick (each team has a captain, and each captain gets to choose from the remaining contestants), or will you assign teams once the sign-ups are finished, the way you sometimes assign tribes in the polls?
I'm definitely interested, regardless. It sounds like a fascinating idea!
Could we buy modifiers for our base team name based upon votes received? Like "The Newts" can become "The Rear-Thwomping Newts of Destruction" if they were successful enough to earn such a title?
Will teams get to throw their weakest member into the fire as a ritual sacrifice?
Will the strongest team be able to earn enough votes to buy members from other teams so that those new members can be put through a period of brutal hazing?
The concept of teams is more than different enough to be exciting.
Au contraire. If my two-faced nature is permitted by the powers that be, rest assured that at least one of those faces will be wholly dedicated to the demolition of our enemies. The more strategy that can be employed, the more I will use. For the good of the team. I hope.
Sooooo many ways this could shake out. Does every member post an entry, and then we compare total votes per team for eliminations? Does the team choose a champion each week based on the topic and which entry they think is their strongest? If a team "loses" in the poll that week, do they lose one member, or are they all out?
If they get picked off one by one, is it just tough noogies if you have dropouts on your team?
For that matter, is Gary going to let you assemble your own teams? Or is he going to do that? And either way, will he shuffle them at some point just to be a bastard?
I don't know if I have this much masochism left in me after 10 months of Season 9...
I see! Honestly, the only way I'd consider playing was if I knew the teams wouldn't be shuffled.
The timing would make it REALLY hard for me to find the time, seeing as I'm due 3/26. I could only see pushing myself to do it for the fun of collaborating with some very fun, very talented friends. If we were going to be moved around and have to juggle the politics of new relationships and partnerships as well, it just wouldn't be feasible or worth it to me.

Also, THE TEAM NAMES. COULD YOU IMAGINE THE TEAM NAMES?
God, I HATE team shit! And yet I want to do this so bad. xD Something's seriously fucking wrong with me. lolol

The first couple weeks will be kind of chaotic, as people figure out how it's going to look/work. But I think people will enjoy it.

Which, I hope, will encourage folks to drag their friends into the mix! :)
