spydielives leaves us today.
The interesting thing - for me anyway- about her is that she came out of nowhere. One minute she was in the middle of the pack, another good writer in a pack of good writers - and the next thing I knew she had become a "presence" in the game.
I was shocked when she won THE SPIRIT OF LJ IDOL award. Not because she didn't deserve it - she clearly did - but because I wasn't aware of how highly she was regarded by her fellow players. She was playing such a low keyed service game, that the fact that she was getting to know everyone wasn't readily apparent. I knew that I thought she should stick around, but to have the people you are competing against declare that you are the spirit of the season, well, that's a big deal.
She always said that her goal was to make the top 10. In a field of 72, even that was going to be an uphill battle for most. She did far better, finishing 4th in a *tight* field of extremely talented folks.
Thank you for playing spydie! It was great to have you around!
