Living in Japan. Didn't see that coming a year ago!

That's always mind blowing, isn't it? I remember when I chose to move to CA and did it... Even just weeks before, I'd never have thought I'd be moving across the country.

/I know what you mean! While I always wanted to live in the UK from the time I was 17, actually being here is so mind-boggling sometimes!

Good job, Gary! I really need to try the program. In my class this week, the big kid class had to run a 5k. The idea of that scares the daylights out of me. I need to build up some endurance, I dread even the short runs they make us go on in our beginner classes ( ... )

Sounds like you've got a lot of good things going on, what with the business ideas, writing, graphic designs, etc. You are very talented, so I hope you can find or make a job that you love!

Thank you! It also comes with a big dose of being stubborn as hell, and resourceful when I have to make ends meet ;)

Good luck!

What kind of business are you looking into making? (Sorry, I must have missed a post somewhere.)

Before I get to answering Gary's question, I wanted to post about one entry that really grabbed my attention. I had to go through all the entries yesterday because with it being the weekend and Chinese New Year, I knew I wouldn't be able to after yesterday. So sorry I didn't have time to comment on everything! Anyway, phoenixejc's entry brought a big smile to my face. It's a good example of the type of non-fiction entry I enjoy.

Now, what I'm doing today that I never would have imagined a couple of years ago? Editing a novel I've written. Oh, I had a lofty dream that I would one day write a novel, but I don't think deep down I believed I'd actually get around to writing a whole one, let alone editing it and preparing for its release. The other thing would be actually making money from my writing. So far this year I've signed two contracts for short stories that I'll be paid for (well, the second is assuming it reaches its crowdfunding goal once that's up). Totally stoked about that.

It's not much yet, but considering how much I've written & submitted to places, I've had a pretty high success rate so far!

Thanks so much for the shout out! I loved reliving that memory and being able to share it with my fellow Idolers!

I've written about this.. but what I'm doing now that a couple of years ago I didn't think would ever happen - I'm working.

More than that...I'm not just working, I'm more successful at this job than I'd ever dreamed I'd be.

I've had photographs hung in exhibition (a new one goes up next month).

And for the most part, I'm happy and content.

Of course, I should probably get off my own couch, but there isn't as much of a rush as I once though there was.

Those of us who have known you long enough always knew you had the potential to be wildly successful! Awesome news about the photos!

Must be nice to be able to work from your couch!

I should do Couch to 5K. I keep meaning to, but instead I end up just sticking with the "couch" part. I'm proud of you, Gary. :D

And um, doing today that I didn't imagine a year ago? Writing a book. No idea what I'll do with it when I'm done, but there's over 100k of it, so there's that.
