Yeats said "things fall apart the centre cannot hold" - but did he ever try superglue??? That would have made things so much easier for him ( Read more... )

What's that saying? Duct tape is like "the force". There's a dark side, a light side, and it holds the universe together.

Right? That's the quote?

I'm super excited to go to class again today. I'm a little nervous, though, because of the extra bit of the song I had to learn over the weekend, was in a different key than the one I'll be singing in, and I can't -for the life of me- transpose vocal music.... So I KNOW I'm singing it in the wrong key. Even if I start out on the right pitch, I somehow get off by the time the main part of the song comes along....

But I'm thinking once I get the sheet music in front of me, I can play it out on my flute and get the pitch in my head, and singing with a piano will make it that much easier.

SO I'M EXCITED!

Whoops. Didn't meant to ramble. >.>

Anyway, hope everyone else is having a good Monday!! or at least one that's survivable. XD

Holding together just fine. "Four" and "Oz" are coming over today to take some pictures. It should be fun (no, really... I keep telling myself that).

ETA: LJ's notification system is WAY slow lately. It took almost half an hour, when it used to be within seconds.

Good morning sweetie!

Argh, what a weekend.

Two graduation parties, both of which we were more than fashionably late to, thanks to my work schedule.

We lasted maybe 2 hours at one. Last night's, maybe 1-1/2 hours. I felt so bad -- it was like, here's your card, kiss/hug/gab, eat the leftovers, we gotta go!

I've got the late shift today, thank god.

And next week -- VACATION!

:thunk:

Ah yaknow, you showed your face and brought gifts, I'm sure they're fine with that. :)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was with both. At its peak, there were over 200 people at the one we attended last night. No wonder why there was hardly any food left! I was like, 200 people????? What did she do, invite her entire school?

Holy crap, that's a lot of people!!! I didn't have a graduation party, but if I did it would have probably consisted of no more than 30 people. Most of them would have been my family. XD

Whew. How can you ask if my favorites have gotten their entries in, Gary? At this point, EVERYONE is my favorite!

Seriously! So twelve of my favorites don't have their entries in.

I got my entry in late last night and writing it was so much fun. I reread parts of three of the Oz books and The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus while I was working on it, plus a few of Baum's shorter stories. So that was kind of awesome.

liret came over this weekend, and we went to two different barbecue parties, and YUM. Plus we went to get Key To The City.

Last night, I mixed Honey Ginger ice cream. So I will post the recipe for that soon!

Oh, abangaku and I picked up the Key to the City last week too! Maybe we can go exploring some of those places together this summer!

Greetings from sunny Florida! Consider this a post card for the whole Green Room to enjoy.
Having a great rime. Wishing you were here!

Kids and I are here riding still on the grief and loss train from FIL/ their Pa Pa, to the conclusion of my brother's wedding. We missed the ceremony but made the day after fun in the sun at the beach and pool at the hotel where my family stayed. I have felt incredibly torn in two directions over all of this, between where I wanted to be and needed/ had to be.

I just want to fully enjoy life outside of work again. AW

Yes! The Hotel Isis on Redington Beach. Quite a big rain storm we had last night, huh? Fun times. Now we're in Tampa off I 4 at my brother's house for the next few days. Doing Busch Gardens one day. AW
