Mornin', you fine group of morgenmuffels! Today is Tuesday (March 1st) and in the immortal words of your newest talking wall clock, let's promise to have a good one!
In case you missed it, your prompt was posted:
https://therealljidol.livejournal.com/1178690.html. Gary has certainly wrassled us a doozy! All the best in tackling it! If I can help ya at all, I'm always happy to!
As one writing week cancels another, we find ourselves with a whole new set of results. You can find them here:
https://therealljidol.livejournal.com/1178443.html. While the game is sure shaping up, no one has been ousted like that 3 day old tuna sub that's been stinking up the work fridge, so there's that at least, right?!
All that being said, I was thinking of a tiny game (with some developmental backend ;D) we might play. A palate cleanser, if you will! As a writer of all styles (short story, novel, movie, television), I know that the more tools I have in my arsenal, the better off! Over the years, I've developed more lists for things than I can count! A favorite is a list I call "Spectacular Vernacular" and it goes like this...
Using your favorite randomizer website (I've been using Watch Out For Snakes
http://watchout4snakes.com/wo4snakes/Random/RandomPhrase for almost 20 years!), select the Phrase tab, then varying your options (noun, noun, adjective or adverb, noun, gerund, etc.), you'll have this amazing resource (in your own "voice") that'll allow you to massage the worlds you create! Allow me to share a few of mine as example...
With closedfisted action
Rushing aspect
Lying grab
Gathered eternity
Workable brightness
Academic minus
and on, and on, and on!
Toss 'em into a Google Doc, a Notepad, or scratch it into Paint! However you do it, we'd love it if you shared!!
