Green Room - Week 27 - Day 8
The poll is still up https://therealljidol.livejournal.com/1153487.html and votes are coming in. But as usual, there is a rush at the start, and a bigger rush at the end. Which makes me think that it should be all 2 hour voting, just to compress that into one rush. :D
(Seriously, I know folks need time to read and vote. That's not as funny though as the idea of just one big rush of voting!)

One thing that I love about Idol is all of these different voices coming together in one place, and all of the people out there reading and supporting their favorites. All of these folks have different ideas about what is "good" and what they enjoy - and if you were to poll them individually, they would probably say that their ideas were the right ones. Clearly anyone who disagrees with them must not be voting on "quality." Which is something that both frustrates, and amuses, me. But there are always going to be people who think there is an equation of what *should* appeal to folks, and if there is anything outside of it, then clearly something is wrong!
I haven't gotten as much of that this season as I have in the past. Which I'm grateful for - hopefully it's due to folks accepting the diversity of tastes that exist. But probably not. :)
Every season is going to be a little different on what folks are going to respond to, and that's always fascinating to me. It doesn't seem that long ago (to me) when fiction never did well... then it switched and non-fiction didn't do well... poetry has always had a rough time, until it didn't. The truth is that all of these just needed the right quality coming at the right time, to cut through the noise.
The closer we get, the more excited I am to see what the finale is going to look like this season!
