Wow, guys. Thank you so much to my fellow contestants for helping to keep me fighting for another round! I'm always floored when I find that I've made it through again, especially considered the quality of the writing this season. Just thank you.
I can't say that I'm surprised or not at the results, honestly-I was prepared for pretty much anything. The five that are leaving are all so talented; it's always hard to lose anyone, but this time around feels particularly devastating. I know that I said in one of the Green Rooms that it made sense to be losing five people (after all, had we not had a "no-elimination" round at the top 16, we'd be getting to the top 10 most likely this time around, so ending up with 9 didn't seem too crazy), but really seeing those names up there... it sucks. I want us all to keep going.
alycewilson, you are better than anyone here at bringing life to your stories and your memories. You always put me right there, seeing things through your eyes, and your work has such heart and feeling that it is always, always such a pleasure to read. It seems like the more I read about your experiences, the more I hunger for more from you.
d0gs, I'll admit that I didn't see much of you in the beginning, but you had a pretty good run at the start, got into Second Chance, and made it all the back up to this point. Pretty freaking amazing! You're a fighter and I love that. Your entry this week was beautiful and touching; I really felt your heart in it.
halfshellvenus, I love your work, but I love even more the reactions that you have to my work. When I see that you've posted a comment on my entry, I know that almost without fail it will start with "HAHAHA!" and I love you so much for that. What I find very interesting is that you and rayaso have very similar styles (unsurprisingly) but you both manage to have your own unique voices. I love that you love my sense of humor, and I love your sense of humor, too. I hope you keep reading and commenting, because you always make my day!
lyssa027, my partner in our second intersections, my fellow speed demon... you are just amazing. I loved our time working together; I loved that we could keep up with each other and how the words and ideas flowed between us so easily. I loved your piece this week (like me, you took a bit of a risk and did something different, which I always admire), but I really love your back catalog of work. You make being relatable seem so easy.
xlovebecomesher, your slice of life stories always warm my heart, but you so easily move between those and short fiction like it's no big deal whatsoever. The thing I love about your fiction is that it has the same feeling as your non-fiction: it's heartwarming, maybe a little messy at times, but always beautifully written.
All of you are so wonderful. It's crazy and sad to me that I won't see these five names showing up in polls anymore; I honestly had at least two of them pegged for top three. Thank you so much, you guys, for being a part of this with me.
Thank you so much for this comment. I'm glad you've enjoyed those memories I've shared this season. Your summaries of the people leaving really put into perspective exactly the level of the season we've reached. I also had a couple of them pegged to move into the top five.

Viagra you are talented at pointing to writer's strengths! I wholeheartedly agree with your feedback about these incredible contestants. It is am honor to write alongside them.
Thank you; up until about the time the Jury started gathering, I was treating this competition as, well, a competition. But it's so much more than that to me now, and I imagine to my fellow contestants, too. When/if I get eliminated, I can only hope that I've made as much of an impact on these other writers as they have on me. Everyone is so good and it feels like we're all pushing each other to amazing heights. It's really quite special. :)
