A few words from Gary:
What is the nature of humanity? Is there a basic morality in the fiber of our beings, or is it a drift ever toward chaos, held in check only by an agreed upon shared system? What is the basic nature of ( Read more... )

Wow Gary, three of us going, that is a twist. It’s going to be a tough vote!

Oh, heavens, must you? MUST YOU with the combined vote?

My partner has very little online presence, and mentioned that it might be a drawback, but you haven't tied the votes together in ages, so I thought it would be okay.

Intersections are hard enough just to WRITE without extra shenanigans going on...

I am also someone without any online presence. I feel bad for my partner now :(

I shall campaign in my limited online capacity for the both of us, but no worries that you can’t. I had hoped that we would see more community only votes, because I always feel like those are fairer (may not be true, but it seems that way to me) but this twist will be. . . interesting. Painful, but interesting.

I don’t have much internet presence these days either, and my free time for use on the internet is even scarcer, but I bet the entries this week are all of such caliber that people will be glad to be pointed in this direction.

And all this is why I never talk about Idol anywhere but here.

I wish LJ was more friendly with my Kindle, but I will endeavor to actually vote this week rather than just read. Good luck everyone!

I have often wondered throughout this competition when my lack of "friends" and online presence would doom me to elimination. There was only one person I knew here prior to entering the competition (who has since dropped out), and I have not asked anyone to join LJ and vote on my behalf. During all that time, I was pleased to see that you all were willing to read and vote for my writings sufficient for me to continue. Now, though, I fear my situation will not only imperil my own continuing competition, but that of my intersection partner, and through no fault of their own. This potential saddens me more than the thought of being eliminated myself. Please consider asking your friends and lurkers to read (and vote on) ALL the works this week, and not just those of the people they know. Thanks, and good luck everyone.

I have also had the same thoughts. When I competed in LJ Idol last (many many years ago at this point), I had a large community of friends on LiveJournal that I could at least hope to rely on for getting through to the next round. Now, I don't think that any of my LiveJournal friends are really using the platform anymore. As it is, I only am back on LiveJournal because of Idol, so I can't really expect people that I haven't talked to in nearly a decade to still be hanging around.

I would like to say to you specifically that I have really been enjoying your work, and I think that you deserve your place here.

Also, the polls have been really unpredictable, so anything could happen between now and tomorrow evening!

Thank you for the kind words. I think we all deserve to be here at this stage, but so did several others who are no longer here. So I am again humbled.

Also, I haven't voted yet (want to take time re-reading the entries this week), so I have no idea how the polls look right now. I do intend to get my vote in tonight so I only have one day of staring at the poll numbers and fretting this time around.
