Going to State!
We (all the people that went to region UIL) got back from Huntsville last night.
Long story short, me, Eric, Rachel, and Meaghan are all going on to state! I got 2nd place and Eric got 3rd place in Ready Writing, Rachel got 1st place and Meaghan got 3rd in News Writing. They gave us big ass medals in little velvet drawstring bags.
I found out that there were only four region competitions yesterday. That means that only twelve people in all are going to be at the state level... but it will be twelve really good writers. The people that place at state get scholarship $$$. The state competition is on May 5th at UT (That's good... no overnight road trip this time).
