Does email cause a temporary loss of IQ points?

Jan 06, 2006 10:59

Have you guys ever noticed the fact that many incredibly brilliant, educated people suddenly start writing like nine-year-olds when they open up their email programs? I'm talking people with graduate degrees, people who have written books, people with jobs in communications, and yet they can't help but write huge, run-on paragraphs with weird misspellings and ellipsis upon ellipsis. I've noticed it mostly with people who are older than I am, but not old enough to be *old*, if you know what I mean. It's incredibly disconcerting.

Anybody know what I'm talking about? Anybody got an explanation?
