Meditation on the Real Thing

If you could pick any living person to lead the country you live in (as president, prime minister, king, or whatever), who would it be, and why? It doesn't have to be someone who could actually conceivably be in line for the job; let your idealism run wild.

I've been turning this one over in my head for a while, and I'm a little surprised at what a hard, hard question it is to answer. Any insights on why that might be would also be gratefully accepted.
