I'll not be posting to Livejournal any more, as I've moved my journal to my own server. All my LJ posts are archived there too, with comments disabled. You will, of course, be able to comment on any new stuff, and on the posts that I'm leaving here.

I've added the RSS feed as dave_free_press, however looks like your RSS feed's URLs are missing the domain component.

Oops! now fixed. My own silly fault, I was trying to be too clever and have it Just Work with the same configuration on both my laptop and on the sewer.

I suppose you could do that by basing the RSS urls on the URL of the script which generates the RSS?

That would be another way of doing it :-)

Actually I figure out what hostname to stuff in the URL based on the operating system it's running on. Which is a bit bonkers I suppose. Ah well, thankfully that lunacy is limited to [runs grep -r] just two files (plus two data files which need to be created separately on the two machines anyway cos of endianness issues).
