i just want to make it clear that i absolutely love working for marcus theaters. everyone is great and i love you all. thank you for a job well done. we got our inspection score back and it was beyond amazing. they said it was "a pleasure to do our inspection." now this is during the month that our manager was on medical leave. she came back last monday almost in tears. it meant a lot to her that we're [the employees] not putting on a show for her and that we did it without her there, on top of our building going through some crazy times. so that was cool. then she said that we were chosen to test all-digital projecting. only two theaters in the state were chosen. this means that we won't be using a projection reel, everything will be downloaded from a computer and then projected. if it works with minimal problems, we might go to all digital (we're only testing it in two auditoriums). the program we'e getting is a 4k, and the other theater's getting a 2k. so if this works, we could be a destination theater (people drive past others to go to ours to see it in digital, similar to when stadium seating was introduced.) we're going to be MACHO busy with MI3, the DaVinci Code, Over The Hedge, X-Men 3, and Poseidon. It's going to be crazy. If this is successful we'd be the only theater in the country to be all digital. so i'm being a part of history, guys! i get to screen either the DaVinci Code or X-Men 3 to watch for problems with the digital. Exciting stuff! I am honored and proud to work for the best theater in the state of Wisconsin.
i was going to start with thursday, but let's rewind to wednesday. i was supposed to have softball practice for my work's tournament against other movie theaters in the area. however, i was also supposed to be at a rehearsal for a thing i'm in on saturday, but i was going to go the rehearsal thursday instead. but the guy in charge of the show i'm in asked if i was going to be there, so i said i had softball practice. he said that the rehearsal was more important, so i told him i'd go. i planned on calling danny or tom to tell them that something came up and i couldn't make it, but turns out i forgot my phone at home. when i got home like an hour after the practice had started, i had like five messages giving me directions, telling me to bring equipment, and then three asking where i was. i felt horrible, but they understood.
then thursday night, cassie called me to work for her so i said yes. i planned on leaving junior miss early and doing my homework in the morning. but i worked with kelsey, and she's not what you'd call mrs. friendly. i had to clean the whole vending stand by myself and i still didn't do everything-i know i didn't, but i was still there 'til 12:30 am. i was super mad. all she did was help with the product/price change stuff and did counts.
tonight, though, i was excited to work because fun people were working and i knew that i wouldn't have to close by myself, plus tammy's welcome back party was afterwards. i get there, though, and andy was like, "natoli i'm mad at you." turns out he had a bad morning opening the vending stand after i closed it. oops! did i care? no! because i was still there til 12:30! but work tonight went much better except we got new inventory, prices, and everything is changed. we weren't exceptionally busy, but it was hectic getting everything sorted. we closed without hassle and then had tammy's party. much better than thursday.
